Ukrainian IM Konstantin Tarlev grabbed the winners trophy at the Victor Ciocaltea Memorial 2013 that took place on 15th – 26th March at the Hanul Manuc in Bucharest, Romania. He also obtained his third GM norm in this event.
Tarlev finished clear first with 8/11 points, impressively leaving his closest follower 1.5 points behind. His compatriot GM Vadim Shishkin finished in second place with 6.5 points.
Romanian FM Robert Hajbok gained an IM norm after getting a 50% score in the event.
The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of Elena Ciocaltea, the wife of the renowned Grandmaster.
