Who is your pick to win this super Blitz tournament?
Here is the official website.
Anand will win.
I’m going to look forward to watching these games. Somehow I don’t expect to see many 14 move draws.
I am puzzled by something about blitz chess however. I usually play on Playchess and I notice that most games seem to be the 1 minute blitz variety. Of what value is a 1 minute blitz game to an average woodpusher? Most of the games that I have seen just seemed to be an exercise in who can push out their pieces quickly without being mated. This being said most high level 1 minute games seem to be different. I have seen players with a 15 second time advantage resign a lost position even though their opponent would certainly lose on time. I thought this was very sportsman like.
Morozevich has been playing a lot on Playchess… my odds are on Trudodyr
There are some high class Bullet (1 or 2 minutes) players on Playchess but it’s more for fun. I think Blitz on Playchess is much more serious. Most of the Grand Masters play mostly Blitz, usually 3 minutes or 3m+1 where you do have the time to think about your position instead of just playing a decent game as quick as you can.
My hopes are on Morozevich as he’s the one I’ve seen play blitz the most. Is Mamedyarov playing too? He’s a really fast player!
Gelfand!!!
He slightly missed the world title in blitz two months ago in Israel, and now he’ll “revenge”!
It is difficult to find any Blitz ratinq lists on the web.
Can anybody help?
I think that Radjabov will win it. He will, at least, get into the top three. Indeed, it was not fair to put Taymur thru the qualyfier; he was in top 3 at the world blits championship, and recently won very strong blitz tourney.
But anyways, he will prove his strength.
Radjabov.
Karjakin, Sergey was the world’s youngest grandmaster (at twelve!) and is currently number 1 on the world Playchess server 3312. Usually speed chess is an indication of greatness. You are looking at a future world chess champion – Fischer, Capablanca, Tal, Kasparov were all speed merchants and world chess champions.
Take a look at Karjakin games

he has already playing high quality chess and beaten world chess champion Kramnik.
Radjabov will take this home.
