There are no live games. I had a hard enough time just to find the results. It is strange to see so little coverage for an event with $100,000 prize funds.
Pity there are no games 🙁
Susan,
Can you please put the games…atleast Anand’s and other top players…
How about video?! Doesn’t everyone love to watch (Grandmasters) Blitz?
With the internet and the low cost of camcorders, I wish there were more chess videos to watch.
Please put them on the iTunes store for $0.99 each. I would pay immediately to watch all of Judit’s games. It doesn’t have to be a production..
(I would pay to watch Susan’s games too, when available).
Thanks.
It seems to me that watching blitz is much more action packed and exciting than a real slow game. Of course I appreciate the slow games in a different way.
But it seems to me that showing blitz games live on the internet would be a very successful venture. One would need to have special boards connected to a computer to monitor the moves.
FIDE should make the initial investment and then make the boards available to tournaments. This could be a great investment to increase participation of chess in the world. The total cost would be much less than some prize money at a tournament. Here the investement would be long lived and the payback would be every time the equipment is used.
These boards were worked on long ago. Then the interest in them seemed to disappear. What happened.
obviously another way is to have the players sit across from each other at a table and play on 2 computer screens. similar to online chess like ICC. This software is well tested out.
I believe the prize fund for the blitz was over $100,000. a lot of money. they would have gotten a lot more for the money spent if they showed the games live on the internet.
From the Russian forums I understood that Judit was simply splendid in her game with Karpov. Karpov started horribly, but then woke up and started winning.
