I think Qg4 works. Qg4+ Qg6 Rd7+ if Rxd7 Qxd7+ if Blk Q blocks the check or K moves Wht Q can take B leaving favorable ending for Wht with six pawns to three. If after Qg4+ Qg6 Rd7+ Blk plays Kg8 then Qxg6+ hxg6 and Rxb7.
TFK
looking at some other possibilities, Qg4+ Kf8 Qf5+ if Q or Rf7 Qd3 looks winning but I was up all night lol. If Qg4+ Kh8 Qd4+ Bf6 Qxf6+ if Rg7 then Rd8 wins or Qxf6+ Kg8 Rg5+ wins
TFK
qg4+ qg6 rd8 but
qg4+ kf8 qf5+ kg7 draw, but
qc8 just seems to win
Precision indeed. 🙂
1. Qg4+!
1.Qc8 immediately loses; see below.
1. … Kf8
1. … Kh8 2. Qd4+ Kg8 (2. … Bf6 3. Qxf6+ Rg7 {3. … Kg8 4. Rg5+} 4. Rd8
1. … Kh6 2. Rd6+ Qg6 3. Rxg6+
1. … Qg6 2. Qxg6+ hxg6 3. Rxd8
1. … Kf6 2. Rf5+ wins the queen after either 2. … Ke7 3. Re5+ or 2. … Ke6 3. Rf8+
1. … Kf7 2. Rf5+ Bf6 (2. … Ke7 or 2. … Ke6 transposes into the last line) 3. Qh5+ Ke7 4. Qxe8+ Kxe8 5. Rxf6
2. Qc8!
White had to play 1. Qg4+ first to force the Black king to f8. If instead she had played 1. Qc8?? immediately, with the same double-attack on b7 and d8, Black would win with 1. … Qe1+ 2. Kh2 Bc7+! 3. g3 Qxf2+ 4. Kh1 Qf3+ 5. K moves Qxd5. But after 1. Qg4+ Kf8 2. Qc8 this try won’t work, as 2. … Qe1+ 3. Kh2 and 3. … Bc7 is illegal because the bishop is pinned to the Black king.
2. … Bc7!!
3. Rf5+!!
3. Qxb7?? Qe1 mate
3. … Ke7
Other moves lose to 4. Qxe8
4. Qxb7 and Black has no check, because the king on e7 prevents 4. … Qe1+.
