Sweden’s line-up for the European Team Chess Championship

The Swedish Chess Federation announced Sweden’s line-up for the European Team Chess Championship today:

GM Hans Tikkanen
GM Nils Grandelius
GM Pontus Carlsson
IM Daniel Semcesen
GM Stellan Brynell

Stellan Brynell will be the playing captain

It is slightly surprising that neither Emanuel Berg nor Evgenij Agrest are playing. Berg clearly seems to be out of form lately though.

Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Germany, Poland, England, Hungary, Iceland, Serbia, Montenegro are also announced on Chessdom. More teams will follow in the coming days.

Irish Chess Union: “Unfortunately, there were not enough people interested in playing in the European Team Championships in November, and therefore the ICU will not be sending a team.”
