Gens Una Sumus!
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov
Special thanks to former USCF President Beatriz Marinello for sending me the information.
He has a lot more support than Karpov. Karpov should drop out now.
A very impressive list of significant countries. Not.
This smell camaraderie…
Karpov is about to get destroyed. His biggest mistake was taking on Kasparov as a supporter and the USCF cronnies.
Nigel Short is in Africa campaigning for Karpov. Probably he is collecting the 4 votes of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda for Karpov. At least they are not on Kirsan’s list. (if they are FIDE memebers at all).
I guess Karpov is working very hard “behind the lines” to collect enough votes.
So basically all the broke countries Kirsan can pay off…and Russia, which isn’t even correct.
Karpov should just hire a hitman…this is ridiculous.
Interesting it says that the National Federation of Russia is supporting Ilhumzhinov. That’s not what all the recent news reports say, including the Russian media! However, small countries not following all of that closely will simply read this post, see Russia’s name on the list, and take it as fact. I’m not sure its a good idea to publish what seems to be a deliberately misleading letter here until and unless the facts are proven correct. And Ilhumzhinov says he wants to preserve democracy??
Didn’t Russia choose Karpov? Oh wait, sorry, that’s before the crooks moved in.
On the contrary, it is ridiculous that Karpov still has the “supported by Russia” slogan at his website. Very few regional federations upport him, the official letter by the RCF has been in Ilyumzhinov’s support.
Misinform some people, get Kasparov perform in front of them, speculate on their fear and get 17 members to vote – is that what he calls endorsement?! The very same people who have been fighting over who will raise their hands and clap longer in support of Dvorkovich at the previous RCF meeting (where Arcady was present)?
Good old Soviet mentality…
