I’m unfamiliar with tournament chess, so what is the device players are using to input moves? Is its use recent? Widespread? Does it store moves on the device itself? Does it transmit moves to an official database?
We are using DGT boards and MonRoi devices. The moves are transmitted live and they are also stored in the devices as well.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
Why both DGT boards and MonRoi? Can’t the games be recorded from the DGT board, making the MonRoi redundant?
MonRoi is better than DGT, it can spread the news worldwide in a second. Also, DGT is too heavy to carry.
How come the USCF website isn’t covering the highest rated US tournament with American players like Robson, Rensch, Ippolito, Finegold, Perelshteyn, and Akobian?
There is a short blurb about it this morning.
Thanks for the info about the technology at the SPICE Cup. I’m a bit out of date on things. At the last tournament I attended, players recorded their moves on clay tablets in cuneiform. 🙂
