Way too hard for me.
Susan
I was just now playing this game on the internet and arrived at this position with mate in 7 and I played it correctly.
feel free to use it any way you want.
1k1rr3/pp3B1p/3q2p1/5p2/P2P4/4n1PP/1QR5/6K1 b – – 0 28
black to play and mate in 7
The last move for white was the bishop from c4 to f7
I was determined to not react to the bishop move but to try to mate him. It worked.
Unfortunately I did not see the mate in 7 before playing it but the moves were all good. all the moves are forced. so no need to show you the answer.
Rybka confirms my 7 moves and also comes up with a mate in 9 that I did not play. I put it on rybka to make sure I did not have an error. no errors.

Took me 16 minutes beginning to end. The hardest for me was #8- was hard to see 1.Qh6 actually worked. On #9, I spent about a minute trying to make 1.Ne5 work before I switched over to the queen sacrifice and the double check with Ne5. On #10, I saw the first move pretty quickly, but it took me a couple of minutes to make sure it could still deliver the mate in 5 moves or less with black’s sacrificial delays.
On #9, I meant discovered check, not double check. Yikes. Pretty motif, though, with the corresponding knight block on that queen.

About 5 minutes, most of it spent trying to find the key to #8. Of course, if I had to write out the variations it would have taken a bit longer. And were the diagrams really that small for the participants?!
Tim,
The diagrams are normal size in real life. I have no way to make them the same size on this blog unless I post one by one.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
About half an hour. #8 was brilliant!
Not more than 3 minutes 🙂 All the puzzles were easy.
I guess I can be your student Susan!
I dont know what you guys are talking about.. the first 5 took me about 8-10 seconds and the next 5 only took me about 10-20 seconds.
The only difficult part was making out the diagrams. Number 8 was fun: 1.Qh6!! gxh6 2.Bf6 and Black stands up.
In terms of time, about the same as Tim.
can’t see.larger version required.pls do the needful!
awww !! I took 1 hour to solve. awsome
just click on the board left click and the digrams will then become bigger in to two seprate parts.
