The 4th Howard Staunton Memorial took place in Simpsons in the Strand between August 14 to 19, 2006. The event was then moved to Wellington College in Crowthorne, Berkshire from 25th August 21 to 25, 2006.

GM Ivan Sokolov took clear first with 9/11. GMs Jan Timman and Michael Adams who was the event’s top seed shared 2nd and 3rd.
