Nakamura declared that he is the only player capable of beating Carlsen. Well, he lost again to him. This guy degraded, insulted the talent and capabilities of Anand, Caruana, Topalov, Aronian, Karjakin, So, Kramnik, Giri, to mention a few good players, by saying he is the only viable challenger to Carlsen. Big mouth Naka owes them an apology by doing so and he must.
I told you guys Nakamura can only make 2 points in this tourney. Better for Nakamura to play with the 2600 ELO rating players where he will excel there.
I agree. Naka owes everybody an apology including Caruana when he belittled them. Caruana seems more viable challenger to Carlsen than Nakamura.
The Carlsen-Nakamura game was really interesting — if you leave out the computer and watch it as a human. The optics were quite something.
Naka goes for broke with …e5, …nb4, and multiple q moves. But his k-side is not developed. Carlsen allows a double check, an opponent pawn on c2, attacking b1, but has Qb3 counter attack on f7. The light colored bishops come to the rescue, but objectively, according the computer, black’s attack is not working. And Carlsen shows us how.
It’s a beautiful game, and you need both players to have taken chances and played well to get such a game.
So, all you bullies who are hassling Naka, time to look in the mirror. Can you play such a game? Granted, it didn’t work, but what optics! and what a game by Carlsen!
Maybe I am wrong, but I think Nakamura lost same game against Mamedyarov in the Olympic games this year…
Are you dumb. Do you think Nakamura played a brilliant game with Carlsen. He’s been doomed from the very start of the game and you call a beautiful game. Go to the yard boy and mow the loan. Stop wasting your time watching chess for you don’t have brain like your master Naka.

Nakamura’s game against Carlsen was a disaster, there is nothing brilliant there at all. He lost a pawn in the opening due to some sort of hallucination maybe he thought Nxe5 did not work because of Nb4 and if Qb3 Be6, he probably missed Bc4 (strange for a +2700 but worst mistakes have been seen at that level).
After that it was pure agony, Carlsen took the pawn and won, period. Where is the brilliancy when a GM is technically lost after a dozen moves?
Maybe just a small exclamation point for Carlsen’s Nxe5 for spotting Nakamura’s mistake but that’s all.
Nakamura has a completely inflated self image, the guy thinks he will be next world champion!?? Not in a thousand years! Now even less with Caruana playing so well and his absolute inability to deal with strong positional GMs like Aronian… Hi ego is so big it even shows in his general attitude when at the board, during interviews, etc, etc. Somebody please do him a favor and wake him up, he’s a top player but nothing less and nothing more, he simply lacks what it takes to be a challenger for the title and has too much of what is needed to gain a lot of enemies and to hamper his own development as a chess player and even worst, as a person.
