1. e7 Bxe7
2. Qc4+ Kh8
3. Qh4+ Kg8
4. Qh7+ Kf8
5. Qh8 #
If
1. … fxNg5
2. Qc4+ Kh8
3. Bxd6
this is won for white.
If f.e.
3. … QxBd6
4. e8Q
yes e7 is an easy win…
i calculated Qc4 just for fun. this is easily refuted by Be7 (even b5 more or less). but its interesting.
1.Qc4 fxg5 2.e7+ Kh7 3.Bxd6 Qxd6 4.e8=Q Qd1+ 5.Kh2 Bd6+ 6.f4!(g3?? Bxg3+=) Bxf4+ 7.g3+-
Beautiful solution by Markus.
I have not found the exact path.
I saw: 1. e7 Bxe7
2. Qc4+ Kh8 3. Nf7+ ? this is a mistake but still it is winning.
3…Kh7 4. Qh4+ Kg8 5. Qh8+ winning the Queen
1. e7 Bxe7
2. Qc4+ Be6
3. Be6+ Kh8
4. Nf7+ Kh7
5. Qe7+- (peace up)
Interesting how a request for “evaluation” yields all tactics & variations…and no positional comment. What would Silman or Seirawan think?
I don’t understand what’s the problem. Doesn’t Qh4 win immediately?
