The 2012 Serbian Chess Championship is taking place from 23rd April to 5th May in Vrnjačka Banja. Fourteen players with average elo of 2534 compete in the round robin tournament.

After seven rounds of play the defending champion Ivan Ivanisevic emerged on the top position by defeating GM Dejan Pikula. The earlier leader Branko Damljanovic suffered a setback in the game against the former world junior champion Igor Miladinovic and dropped to the 2nd place.
