Is that your kitchen at your house in Lubbock, Susan? What are real estate prices out there anyway?
Thanks so much to Susan and all of the people involved with SPICE for putting on such a great Open tournament, as well as Scholastic and Women’s competitions. I didn’t do so well on Sunday, but I played good games and wound up with a final total of 2 points. Since I was paired up at least 300 points in each game and three times the difference was over 400 (a testament to the strength of the Open section, which had a GM and two IMs in there as well as some titled players in the Women’s group whom I didn’t face), I’m going to be very happy when the ratings are put into the computer. I hope the GMs all had a good time, even those who were here last year and faced a much tougher crowd. Thanks also to Dr. Alexey Root for bringing her UT Dallas contingent out here to Lubbock (and thank goodness it wasn’t on a football weekend), and to both Dr. Root and GM Polgar for telling em about their teaching programs. I had five good games to show to students. See you next year at the SPICE Cup and all the side events!
