There are only 3 rounds left at the Dresden Olympiad (www.Dresden2008.com). Armenia is on track to win back to back Gold. China, in spite of a very young team, is in the clear lead.

Russia came into this Olympiad as the big favorite in both the Open and Women’s Olympiad. The Russian Open team still has a shot of winning the Gold. They are currently in 3rd place behind Armenia and Israel. The Russian Women’s Team is out of the Gold medal race as they are currently tied for 10th-18th place. However, they still have an outside shot for the Silver or Bronze.

The U.S. Women’s Team is still in the hunt for the Gold. The U.S. Open Team is currently tied for 14th – 25th.

Topalov and Kamsky finally reached an agreement for a match next February. My press conference with IM Danailov (Manager of Topalov) and GM Sutovsky (Manager/Second/Friend of Kamsky) is available here.

It’s Saturday Open Forum. What would you like to discuss? The forum is yours!
