Gharamian is leading Cannes after 7 rounds. The European Individual Championships and the Belgrade Women’s Tournament are underway.
Amber super rapid and blindfold tournament starts next week.
There are around 300 young chess players in Carefree, Arizona this weekend for the 2010 SP National Open for Girls and Boys. The winner of each section receives a high tech netbook computer and there are over $100,000 in prizes, including chess scholarships to Texas Tech University.
The Carefree Resort is a premier location to hold this event and we are planning to return to this same spectacular location next year.

Amazing! Your tournament draws 300 without any advertisement in Chess Life, CLO, or TLA. Congratulations.
I would love to share a poem:
There lives an old man in El Paso,
Who rants and raves like a hobo,
Wouldn’t it be nice,
If he were eaten by mice,
While he dangled from a laso?
hobo?
