Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I was looking at the Mamediarov – Cheparinov game and I’m baffled at the draw. Did Cheparinov agreed on a mercy draw? Was it the position pretty much hopeless for Mamedyarov? If not why accepting the draw that throws him out of the competition?
Black was better but I would not have taken a draw there either.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

Martin I thought the same thing as you did and I see Susan agrees.
IT looks like Onischuk lost today.
Go Gata Go
Go Magnus
I would like to know how much has the USCF spent on Internet insurance, deductibles and legal fees this year? As USCF members, are we entitled to know?
That’s an interesting question. How much has this federation spent on the Sami Sloani nonsense instead of financing the world youth, olympiad, US championship, final four, ect?
Go Gata! Go Magnus!
I can’t give you those answers because I do not have them. Perhaps you should ask the other 5 board members or the ED because we have been isolated from their activities.
We were instructed to address questions and communications through their lawyer.
Now that I see first hand how the USCF functions, I understand why this federation has had severe financial difficulties for many years.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

When are you going to play in the US Women’s Ch.? We need you on the US Olympiad team also!
Please allow Susan to retire from active competitive chess. Her work now is much more important for chess in the world. She is now giving all her energy to help other people instead of all her energy to play a game.
Both are good. But time has come for Susan to face much more important issues in the world of chess. I sincerely hope Susan can be successful. The USCF viper pit is much worse than I ever imagined.
But then I seem to remember some kind of quote about being a shining light of love walking through the valley of death to show everyone there is life.
Susan and Paul are 2 very wonderful people. I hope everyone always supports them because in doing so we are really supporting ourself.
Hear! Hear! I agree that FM Truong and GM Polgar are an asset to world chess! They deserve the support and respect of all who love chess!
It is very interesting for me – I am german – to read about your chess federation and the several difficulties. And about the new engagements espacially by susan.
In Germany we have a similar situation, and now there is a new chairman named v.Weizsäcker, one of the sons of the former Bundespräsident. We are very happy about his activities.
And there is Hans-Walter Schmitt – Susan, you know him as well – , organizer of the chess classic in Mainz and enthusiastic of the 960. We love him because he does a very good work, both professional and by heart.
Best wishes, okay
I respect Susan’s wishes…Is there any chance Judith would move to the US? I’m just trying to beef up the American team.Best of Susan and keep up the great website!!! Another USCF Lifer
When you referred to “their lawyer”, who is the ‘they’ referred to – the USCF, or the 5 other members of the EB?
Why has your (by which I mean you and Paul Truong) relationship with the rest of the Executive Board sunk to this level? It would appear that there is something you ar trying to tell us, right?
I have not renewed my USCF membership because of the corruption. Chess should not be God’s gift to lawyers. Susan, why don’t you start a new federation? I will be your first member. I will volunteer free legal time to help you set up the organization. Enough is enough.
It would be irresponsible for me to comment on the legal details. However, all I can say is I have never seen such conducts in my 34 years in chess. I am not sure if it is legal (and we will soon find out) or not but it is definite unethical.
My action will depend on how the other 5 board members choose to proceed with their lawyer(s) in the upcoming weeks and months. I am prepared to produce solid evidence going back to my announcement to run for the board and perhaps even further back. The biggest problem so far has been leaks of confidential information, even as late as days or weeks ago. I have questioned the board regarding some of these issues and I was told to address their lawyer(s).
I have made an official proposal to the board which will save the USCF tens and thousands and perhaps even hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Once that is resolved, we can proceed to take care of other urgent matters which are vital to the health of this federation. The other option is to drag this out in court for the next few years. It is up to them and their lawyer(s) on how to proceed.
I have asked the President to remove himself from this process due to a serious conflict of interest but he has refused. I also feel that he should not have been involved in any discussion regarding various bids for national events since he owns CCA (Continental Chess).
Soon, the simple question of finances will come up. How much has this board spent on legal fees, deductibles and insurance so far (my estimation is at least $35,000 – $40,000 / $15,000 internet insurance, $10,000 deductibles, $5,000 to one lawyer + $ to the USCF regular lawyer) and how much more are they willing to go when we have no money to spare for the Olympiad, US Championship, World Youth, College Final Four, etc.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
I agree with Susan about Bill Goichberg. It’s a serious conflict of interest to run the USCF and CCA at once. But this is the history of Bill going back for many years.
I’m also interested to know how much has the uscf wasted for this latest Sam Sloan’s disgraceful lawsuit?
We know $15K for the internet insurance is correct. That was mentioned by Channing. We also know the deductible is $10K. So the question is how much more?
I can’t find polite words strong enough to reflect how sickened I am over the recent activities of crowd that now infests r.g.c.p.
These people seem to be willing to bring the USCF to a complete halt to satisfy their personal agendas. And the head rabble-rouser is a person who had run for office. His current actives clearly reflect his commitment to the members of the USCF.
You should have left the comment from that idiot on to show the chess community how these people operate. Don’t give up Susan. Continue your fight. We’re behind you all the way.
Slap a couple multimillion dollar lawsuits on Goichberg and his gang and they’ll never pull crap like this again. You should never give in to any of them. There are enough things in writing out there that you can nail them on. Susan, fight for all of us. Otehrwise, things will never get better.
Create a fund to go after these destroyers of chess! I will send the first $100 !!!
I can’t believe this. I received a response from one of the denizens of r.g.c.p claiming that I am Paul Troung, and demanding I resign from the USCF board.
You have your wish. As of today I will publicly state I am not a member of the USCF executive board.
Most Sincerly,
Paul Harker

These same people will harass, abuse and insult anyone who disagree with them. Welcome to the USCF under the leadership of Mr. Goichberg.
Chess attacts the wierdest people on earth. I am glad I am normal.
My friend meant to say chess attracts wierd people and I cannot agree further!
