Kamsky is in the semi. So are the 2 young phenoms Carlsen and Karjakin! Then we have the dynamic Shirov. 1,400 kids are competing for national titles in Houston, Texas. Kasparov was in jail now out for standing up to his political belief. UTD is organizing a RR tournament (other than Sevan Muradian and Texas), there are so few RR events in America. Irina Krush has been invited to Corus C group next year. The US and US Women’s Championship will be in Tulsa / Stillwater, Oklahoma next year. What would you like to discuss?
It is Saturday Open Forum. The forum is yours!
What’s the USCF financial status? How much will we have to waste on Sloani, Laffernati, Mottersheadi, Bogneratti and Alaricoti?
I like to see Kamsky winning the world cup.
When Bill Goichberg organizes big money tournaments in Philadelphia, Chicago and other cities, does he donate any of his major profits back for the development of chess in those communities? Members of the ICA would like to know.
Go Irina Krush! You can win the c group!
I have an idea, I want to share with
the world. Here it goes:
One thing that is missing in Chess as a Sport that you can find in other sports is reactions. When a soccer player scores you can see reactions and that is the most exciting part of the game.
Of course its not so simple to implement this in chess. Most chess games are played in halls and when you finish your game you need to keep quiet and not disturb other games going. So what to do? It is a problem. May be create a special room close to the game halls. Players who finish a game rush to this room and break their emotions of happiness or sadness. And their will be audience their too. May be you will buy sits to sit in this special room. I can see in my imagination, a player like Svidler for example, kneeling down on the floor , kissing it , after a win. And the crowd applauds. And so on.
What do you think about this idea Susan, is it too fictional?
When Alex Lenderman won the gold at the World Youth a few years ago, the USCF Executive board gave him a hefty gift certificate for the USCF book and equipment vendor. Are Daniel Naroditsky and Sarah Chiang getting anything?
Laffernati doesn’t understand that he’s been banned. He apparently doesn’t understand basic English. Interesting!
Reactions in Chess are over-rated, in fact it is best not see the reactions.
Here is a clip of the BIGGEST JERK Victor Korchnoi losing to one of the Polgars…

It is stuff like that and the rants of Bobby Fischer that will destroy the sport of Chess than help it. The less we know about the players the better I say!
The Dreamer, you are weird.
I do not like the 5 muskateers. We forgot Brenan. OMG. Brenan. we have 6.
I no longer like Bill G. I will never again go to a billy g tournament and donate my money to him.
I wanna see Irina make GM. I know she can do it. She is so close now. Keep up the good work Irina. I really like watching you play chess on the internet in the big tournaments.
