Article by Eric van Reem
Another title for Rybka! In the 10th edition of the International Computer Chess Tournament (ICT10) the latest Rybka 4 by Vasik Rajlich scored 8 points out of 9 games. Rybka lost only one game, against second placed Deep Sjeng by Gian-Carlo Pascutto. The Belgian program played a fine tournament and scored 7 points.
Two programs shared the third spot on the winner’s podium: Hiarcs by Mark Uniacke and Shredder by Stefan Meyer-Kahlen. Both programs scored 6 points. Rybka won the “Theo van der Storm” trophy, named after the late CSVN secretary and organizer Theo van der Storm.
On the table below you can see the final results. Remarkable: only 13 of 63 games ended in a draw!

We would like to take the opportunity to thank tournament director/webmaster Jan Krabbenbos and arbiter Rienk Doetjes for organizing another trouble-free tournament.

Where’s Fritz? Isn’t Fritz the best?
Who cares about Fritz? Where’s Stockfish 1.7.1.? Another commercial event for Rybka.. There’s no point in bying engines anymore, freeware engines are just as strong or even stronger as the strongest commercial programs. Strangely enough this isn’t even mentioned in any of the chess sites.

“Only 13 of 63 games ended in a draw.” I think this shows what can happen when you actually play positions out. Go Sofia rules!
what about Stockfish?
How come they weren’t invited?
Because they’re number one?
Or because Stockfish is free?
It is certain that Chessbase have monopoly selling their products:
Rybka,Fritz,Kramnik…
