Be5 1-0!
1.Be5 and white wins material. Easy!
1Ne6 wins
1.Nxe6 could be useful Rfc8
2.Nxg7 Bxg2
3.Kxg2 Bf8
4.Nf5 Rc2
5.Bd4 Nc6
6.Bf6 Re8
7.Nd4 Nxd4
8.Bxd4 Bg7
9.Kf1 Bxd4
10.Rxd4 Re6
1. Be5(?) Rbd8
2. Rxb7 Nxb7
3. Bxb7 f6! and Black wins his piece back, with an exchange up. In addition, 4.Bc7 does not work because of 4. … Rd7
So:
1. Nxe6! The knight is sacrosanct. See:
1. … fxe6
2. Rxg7+ Kh8
3. Rg4+ and Black can only delay the mate.
Regardless of what Black does, White wins at least one more pawn with Nxg7.
Nxe6 easily wins at least two pawns.
1. Nxe6 fxe6?
2. Rxg7+ Kh8
This could have become a pawneating mill, but is even better:
3. Rg6+! Bd4
4. Bxd4+ e5
5. Bxe5+ Rf6
6. Bxf6#
or
1. … Rc8/Re8
2. Nxg7
and black has no compensation for the two pawns.
Another move is:
1. Be5 f6
2. Bxb8 Bxg2
up with quality.
White must avoid:
1. a3? Nxb3 followed by Bxg2, this just looses a pawn.
Cxe6…fxe6…Txg7
1.Nxe6!, the variations are too straightforward 🙂
