2006 Magnet Schools of Texas and
National Association for Educational Equity Conference
October 20-23, 2006
Omni Corpus Christi Hotel Marina Tower
Corpus Christi, Texas
I was the keynote speaker this morning to hundreds of educators nationwide. I explained to them about the many benefits of chess for children. In addition, I showed them how chess can specifically help children in school. The educators were very positive about it and many have asked me to introduce the chess curriculum from the Susan Polgar Foundation to their school districts. I see an excellent trend of educators supporting chess IF proper information is given to them. You can do the same in your area.
Here is a video clip of the local children performing before the speech.
We need you to push for chess in our schools in South Florida.
Something that I dont see is a large push for chess for adults, it is always about chess for children.
How come there isnt the same energy for the adult market, or is it placed in the too hard basket?
“How come there isnt the same energy for the adult market, or is it placed in the too hard basket?”
Because it’s simply too late for them.

Susan, thanks for your tireless resolve in helping our schoolchildren.
“Because it’s simply too late for them.”
That’s nonsense. Adults may learn slower
than kids, because adults has a lot more
“distractions” than kids, but it is never
too late for anyone to learn. In fact,
there was a report that I read talking
about exercising brain at old age slows
down the degeneration of brain neurons
associated with alzheimer disease.
I’m trying to push chess for children out here in the Philippines. Susan, if you ever want to go international, I have a great place for you to start…
