1.Qd8+ Rxd8 2.Rxd8+ Kg7 3.Bf8+ Kg8 4.Bh6#
This is an oldie.
1. Qd8+ Rxd8 (1. … Kg7 2. Bf8+ Kg8/h8 3. Bh6+ Rxd8 4. Rxd8#) 2. Rxd8+ Kg7 3. Bf8+ Kg8/h8 4. Bh6#
We’ve seen at least two variants of this (if not that exact same position) in recent weeks, so the solution is very easy to come by.
1- Qd8+; Rxd8 (alternative: Kg7, below)
2- Rd8+; Kg7
3- Bf8+; Kg8 (or Kh8)
4- Bh6#
or
1- … ; Kg7
2- Bf8+; kg8 (or Kh8)
3- Bh6+; Rxd8
4- Rxd8#
I am suffering from severe deja vu.
1. Qd8+
1. … Rxd8
2. Rxd8 + Kg7
3. Bf8+ Kg8 or Kh8
4. Bh6#
1. … Kg7
2. Bf8+ Kg8 or Kh8
3. Bh6+ Rxd8
4. Rxd8#
qd8+
Yancey, you are not alone. I have a strong deja vu feeling too. 🙂 Look here…
