1. … Bh6
2. Qxh6 Rxc3+
3. bxc3 Qxc3#
Mark
1. … Bh6!!
2. Qxh6 (forced) Rxc3+ 0-1
(If 2. bxc3 Qxc3 mate)
(If 2. Kd2 Qxb2+/Qd4+ both have a devastating attack)
2r2rk1/pp2ppbp/6p1/3Bpb2/1q4P1/2N1QP2/PP5P/2KR3R b – – 0 1
1 … Bh6
2 Q:h6 R:c3
works because of 3 bc Q:c3#
I can’t find anything absolutely (and easily!) forcing after 3. Kd2, but Black gets a very strong attack that should carry the day, e.g.:
1…Bh6
2. Qxh6 Rxc3+
3. Kd2 Qd4+
4. Ke2 Rc2+
5. Rd2 Bd3+
6. Kd1 Qxd5
7. Rxc2 Bxc2+
8. Kxc2 Rc8+
9. Kb1 Qxf3
or
4. Ke1 Re3+
5. Kf2 Rd3+
6. Ke2 Qxd5
7. Rxd3 Qxd3+
8. Ke1 Be6

1. … Rxc3+
2. Qxc3? (alternative below) Rc8
3. gxf5
Qxc8 Bxc8 immediately drops a piece and still black has double threat Qc5 or Bxe5.
3. … Rxc3+
4. bxc3 Qxc3+
5. Kb1 Bxe5
6. Rxd2 Qxd2
7. any Qb2#
2. bxc3 Rc8 (I didn’t like Qb1+)
3. Kd2 (gxf5? Rxc3) Qb2+
4. Ke1 Bc2 (bishop saved)
5. Rd2 Qxc3 (gains a pawn)
6. Qxc3 Rxc3
7. f4
and white has just a pawn for the quality.
This can’t be right, must be some improvement…
Bh6
1. – , Bh6 (pins white’s queen, white is forced to react somehow) 2. Qxh6 Rxc3+ 3. Kd2 (3. bxc3 Qxc3#) and the win is not far away for black.
Dragon puzzle today it seems.
… Bh6!
and white queen is lost because of this continuation:
Qxf6 Rxc3+
bxc3 Qxc3#
Of course
g5 Bxg5
f4 Bxf4
don’t change anything.
1. … Rxc3!
2. bxc3 Rc8!
3. Kd2 Qb2+
4. Ke1 Rxc3!
Of course! How could I miss that move in my first analyzis?
5. Qxa7 Rc2!
6. gxf5 (took it’s time)
otherwise (f4) Bd3 next is deadly.
6. … Bxe5
7. Qa6 (no good moves for white now) Rg2
and Qf2# (perhaps Qd2+ first) will follow.
