I didn’t get it all figured out but I think I have got some ideas right.
1. Nxc6! Qxc6 2. Ne5 Qc7 3. Bc6 Kf8 4. Bxd7 Rxd7 5. Bxb6! Qb7 It is not over yet. Here I am perplexed. My predicament is whether I should take 6. Nxd7+ or play 6. Bd4
Note that the Black Rook on h8 and the Black Knight on h6 are out of play.
Good question, anon 3:18, and in principal you are right and I agree with you. But what other moves? Do you have any suggestions? White can increase pressure on d7 if the Black King doesn’t get out of the pin, by moves like i.e. Rd1, Qxa4. This increased pressure can give White the whole piece(the d7 Knight) and not only the exchange. One line can go like this: 1. Nxc6! Qxc6 2. Ne5 Qc7 3. Bc6 Bd5 4. Bxd7 Rxd7 5. Qxa4 and White has the idea of both putting a Rook on the d file pressuring d7 and advancing the c pawn to c4 (Black cannot take on c4 without losing some material) . The position as I assess it is : A small material advantage for White and a clear positional advantage for White. On high level that should be enough for a win. But for a guy my level it is not over yet.
I’m thinking about this… pretty tricky!
the oscar here goes to Nf5..
thank you very much..
the true oscar really goes to Ne5, not Nf5..
thank you very much again..
1. Nd2 Bd5
2. c4 Bxg2
3. Nxe6 Qd6
4. Nxd8 Bxh3
5. Kxh3 Bxd8
6. c5 Nxc5
7. Nc4 Qd3
8. Qxd3 Nxd3
9. Rad1 Nc5
10. Bxc5 bxc5
11. Rge1+ Be7
12. Rd6 Rf8
13. Rxc6 Ng4
14. Kg2 Kd7
15. Ra6 Bf6
16. Nb6+ Kc7
17. Re6 Rd8
18. Ra7+ Kb8
19. Rd7 Rh8
20. Nxa4 Rc8
21. Rb6+ Ka8
22. Rbb7 Rc6
23. Nb6+ Rxb6
That should do it!
Pawn to b3 seems good to me, to get space

relating to my previous post: I guess 6. Qxa4 or even 6. Nxc4 give White a small material advantage and a bigger positional advantage.
1. Nxc6! Qxc6
2. Ne5 Qc7
3. Bc6 Kf8
I don’t get this move. Why the panic? Black’s already committed to sacrificing the exchange on d7, and ducking out of the pin won’t save anything.
1. Nd2 Bd5
2. Bxd5 exd5
3. Ne6 Qa7
4. Bd4 Rg8
5. Nxd8 Kcd8
I believe this would give White a slight edge over Black.
1. … Bb5
2. Nxe6 Qd6
3. NxR KxN
4. c4 Ba6
4. Qxa4
This alternative would be worse for Black, so 1. … Bd5 is forced IMO.

After 1.Nxc6 Qxc6 2.Nd4 Qc7 3. Bc6 Nf7! white doesn’ t win the a4 pawn.
1.Nd2 wins the exchange, but 1.Ne5 Nxe5 2.fxe5 Nf7 3.Nxc6 is also interesting
2.Ne5 instead of Nd4 of course
1. Nd2

I vote for 1.b3 c5 2.Nc6 Bxb3 3.bxb3 Qc7 4.Nc6. It looks good.
axb3 of course
Well, I forgot a move.
1.b3 c5 2.Nc6 Qxc6 3.Ne5 Bxb3 4.axb3 Qc7 5.Nc6
What about Ng5 if Bxg5 fxg5 Nf7 and Nxc6 with the exchange. Or e5 and Ne6 Bxe6 Nxe6 and still wins the exchange,
