Polar Capital Jersey International Chess Tournament 2015
The Jersey Chess Federation announces the Polar Capital Jersey International Chess Tournament which will be held on 15-20th March, 2015, in St Clement Bay, Jersey.
The event consists of three tournaments: Open Tournament, Holiday Tournament and Nautilus Jersey Blitz Championship.
Sponsors of the event are Polar Capital, Jersey Tourism, the One Foundation and Nautilus Trust Limited. The Official venue is the Hotel Ambassadeur.
The Open tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds, with time control 90 minutes for the whole game + 30 seconds increment per move.
The Highest ranked players who are not already qualified will qualify for the 2015 British Championship. The first prize at the Open tournament is £1500.
Holiday Tournament is for players with ELO Rating 1900 and will be played in 7 rounds. The first prize is £400.
Jersey Open Blitz Tournament, Sponsored by Nautilus Trust Limited will be held on Wednesday 18th March, starting at 7.00 pm. The first prize is £150.
The total prize fund is £4725, including trophies and other special prizes.
