Shahriyar Mammadyarov wins Aeroflot Open blitz contest

The blitz contest in Aeroflot Open chess festival which was a selection to the world blitz championship was held in Moscow yesterday.
Azerbaijani grandmaster won with 14.5 points by results of nine rounds. He beat his countryman Rauf Mammadov among other opponents. Rauf became ninth with 12.5 points.
Six first chess players receives the trips to the world blitz championship. Along with Shahriyar Mammadyarov, these are also Ruslan Ponomaryov (Ukraine), Dmitriy Andreykin (Russia), Yevgeniy Tomashevskiy (Russia), Wesley So (Philippines) and Nikita Vityugov (Russia).
Shahriyar Mammadyarov received EURO 10,000 for the first place.
