This is the original sign from over 10 years ago
The Polgar Chess Center in Queens, New York has been around for 11 years. It was my childhood dream to own my own chess club and it became a reality shortly after I won my last Women’s World Championship. More than 70 GMs and countless other titled players have visited or played in my club over the years and we have run countless events for players of all ages.
The Internet has changed the way how people play chess and it is becoming much harder for chess clubs to survive. But the Internet cannot overcome the personal face to face interaction between friends and rivals in local chess clubs.
So here is your chance to plug your favorite local chess clubs. Please feel free to share the names, addresses, websites, or phone numbers of your favorite clubs.

What’s great about the Polgar Chess Center in Queens is the easygoing vibe, the attentiveness of the managers, and the friendliness of the players. Most of the members will help you out, offer constructive criticism, and shoot the breeze about all things chess. Highly recommended for beginners, experts, and masters alike.
Hi, I found the Pittsburgh Chess Club in late 2004, when I was curious about where to play chess, after I had stopped playing for 20 years. I was delighted to join it and start playing tournament chess again and have been active in the Pittsburgh chess scene since. I encourage anyone near Pittsburgh or stopping by to check it out. We have a community of friendly players, an extensive library, and hold rated tournaments on site. Email us if you have any questions.
