The 23rd Open International Tournament of Kavala took place on 2-9th August 2014 at the Foyer of Kavala Prefecture Amphitheater in Kavala, a city in northern Greece.
The event was a 9-round Swiss, organized by Kavala Chess Club and East Macedonia and Thrace Chess Union.
IM Antonios Pavlidis (Greece) and GM Andrey Sumets(Ukraine) share first place on 7 points each. The first two prizes in the amount of 2.000 € and 1.200 € were divided equally in-between them.
Third place was shared by IM Marco Codenotti (Italy) and IM Minh To Nhat (Hungary) on 6,5 points each.
