Policies for Bye
• Players may request a half-point bye in rounds 1-7. Byes must be requested by the beginning of the previous round. Players requesting a bye after the round has started will be given a Zero-point bye. Example A: If a player wants a bye in round 3, they must request the bye in round 2. If player failed to request before the start of the previous round and instead requested a bye for round 3 during round 2 or at the end of round 2 player will be given a Zero-point bye. • Byes requested for round 8 or 9 will be Zero points.
COVID-19 Exception If a player fails temperature check two consecutive times or is showing signs of COVID-19 in round 1-7, they will receive a forfeit for that round and have the option to receive a half a point bye in the following rounds while go to receive a COVID-19 Test and wait for results. If the result is negative, the player may resume the tournament. If the player does not take a COVID-19 test, they will be removed from the tournament for all other participants’ safety. If players fail temperature check or are showing signs of COVID-19 round 8-9, the same rules apply except for half-point byes; the player will receive zero-point bye in rounds 8-9.
