Hi Susan, About a week ago you posted a thread titled – “Double Trouble for Top Women” or something like that. That post was very thought provoking. I spent a week mulling it over and realized what is needed is an Association for Women’s Chess Professionals to represent women players best interests. The president (or executive director) would liason with the top groups such as USCF, FIDE, AF4C etc. and build trust amongst the women players as well as keeping active communication within the chessworld and bring in sponsorship for women’s chess. This would create a powerful entity which the rest of the chessworld would have to listen to and should be setup with trustworthy people so as to avoid the messy politics that currently goes on. The reason I posted here was I thought it was more likely that you would read this as the other thread was already extremely long. I also think this association will come about naturally and you are already doing a great deal for something like this to come about. This tournament you are doing is extremely praiseworthy and is building an extremely bright future for women’s chess already! In fact all that you are now doing is building an incredible foundation for the future of chess in America. Keep up the good work! Congratulations!
