Yeah, he’s a nice bloke.
I met Gregory at a chess camp on 2005. He was polite, encouraging, and accessible. I recall one morning when he had just arrived at the site where we were playing our daily game in one hour for analysis. Two young boys, rated below 1000, had already completed their game (one committed a huge blunder). Gregory asked if they had looked over the game, and they said “no.” He sat down with them and helped them analyze it. Imagine, a GM doing a post mortem with two young, low rated players. Pretty neat.
