Following the resignation of the Mediterranean Chess Association (MCA) President Damir Levacic earlier this year, the national federations were discussing the appointment of the MCA Board.
The new Mediterranean Chess Association Board for the period 2014-2018 which will be as follows:
President – Nabil Badr (Lebanon)
Deputy President – Hisham El Gindy (Egypt)
Vice President – Mrs Gulkiz Tulay (Turkey)
General Secretary – Geoffrey Borg (Malta)
Treasurer – Sakis Kouvatsos (Greece)
Board Members – Miroslav Kopanja (Serbia), Samir Zirdali (Algeria) and Patrick Van Hoolandt (Monaco)
Executive Director – Roland Akhrass (Lebanon)
MCA Board will hold a meeting during the Olympiad in Tromso, Norway. Dates will be announced shortly.
The 9th Mediterranean Championships for Men and Women will take place in early September 2014 in Crete, Greece.
