Brilliant!
Wonderful movie!
I was not aware of this series before. It falls in line with what I’ve been thinking for a while. Thanks for sharing.
Oh dear. I’m a fan of Susan and her column but this is globalist psychological propaganda. Firstly genius is born not made, a high level of competence can be achieved through training but genius is born. This is evidenced by the fact that children sometimes exhibit genius at a young age with no training.
The communist new world order wants everyone to believe no one is innately special. The globalists want to empower women in society in order to make society more controllable as they implement the world government. Men are the biggest threat as they view authority as an alpha male threat whereas women view it as a protector, thus men are more likely to fight authority. All major IQ studies have shown that men are 5 points higher overall. The biggest difference however is the distribution, women are more grouped around the average whereas men are more evenly distributed across the spectrum leading to many more stupid men but many more male geniuses than women. This makes evolutionary sense as the bigger the differences between men the easier it is for women to identify superior mates, but mainly the best selected of a spread out group will be much smarter than the best selected from an average group thus humanity’s intellectual evolution advances more rapidly.
Secondly it’s misleading claiming she was on equal terms with Kasparov or Fischer. Susan knows this. Men are innately better overall as ratings bear out despite record numbers of women competing. This is not to say that a woman can’t be competitive with the top men but it’s statistically highly unlikely.
Still an enjoyable documentary though, it’s good to see chess gain more exposure.
I wish many more parents were like Susan’s father. She wouldn’t be who she is today if it wasn’t for him. It’s not just about that he trained her to become the best chess player, but he gave her all his time and attention and the two have probably build a very strong bond. I’m glad she passes it on to her son. Wishing you the best, jealous 🙂
The definition of genius is that they can’t be made, they have an exceptional natural ability from the start. Its not the same as becoming very good at something because of your upbringing
Susan, I just watched this documentary. Thank you so much for doing it! Very inspiring!! I am giving my students “extra credit” if they watch it. 🙂

Susan, thank you very much for this fascinating documentary “My Brilliant Brain”! 🙂 I am also female, better in learning and speaking foreign languages than in studying and playing chess. But anyway, chess is fun for me!
