Myanmar Open Chess 2014 to be held in Yangon
YANGON, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — Myanmar Open Chess 2014 is set to take place at Aung San Stadium in Yangon in October, to nurture more new generation chess players in the country, sports circle said Monday.
The event, organized by Myanmar Chess Federation, is scheduled to take place from Oct. 7-15.
“Holding such domestic chess tournaments will help raising the ability of national players and nurturing more outstanding ones in the future,” an official of the federation said.
The winners from level 1 to 24 will have chances to participate in the International Open Chess Tournament 2014 which is to take place in November here.
