My Brilliant Brain on Geo from December 10

My Brilliant Brain a new series premieres on December 10 at 10 pm on the National Geographic Channel, that sets out to make viewers re-think the abilities of the human brain. The series examines three groups of genius to answer questions about human intelligence and the origins of genius: are these extraordinary abilities genetic , developed or acquired by accident?

As part of the series , Nat Geo will showcase a special Indian film called India’s Geniuses that profiles four Indian geniuses including Siddharth Nagrajan from Hyderabad , Nischal Narayanam from Hyderabad , Tataghat Avatar Tulsi from Bangalore (originally from Bihar) and Raghav Sachar from Mumbai. Stories of these geniuses will be presented by National Award winning actor Konkona Sen Sharma.

Speaking on the channel’s biggest initiative this year, Nikhil Mirchandani , Managing Director , National Geographic Channel , South Asia said , “My Brilliant Brain is a special initiative for us as it strongly communicates our philosophy of Think again. It is a celebration of the incredible powers of the human mind and we have extended it beyond the on-air showcase, which includes innovative on-line and on-ground activation to provide a wholesome experience to our viewers.”

With a mix of special effects photography, computer animations and neurological experiments, the series will showcase some of the world’s most phenomenal geniuses.

Born Genius introduces Marc Yu, an amazing seven year old classical concert pianist whose brain seems specifically created for music. Delving deep into the minds of savants , Accidental Genius shares the story of one man who suffered a serious brain injury that released a manic talent for painting that he had never known. Make Me a Genius profiles Susan Polgar, whose unique education early in childhood shapes a supreme ability to play chess, making her the world’s first female chess grand master.
