I want to say 1…Qxg2, but it only works if white takes back with the queen. If the king takes, then I haven’t worked that out yet. Somebody?
… Bc4
De1 Bf1
After this, can’t see anything that black can do.
If Qxf1 Ng3+, winning.
If Rd2 or e2 or f2, Ng3+ threats mate.
If Rg1, Dxg1 also win.
Bc4
han
1,….. Bc4
2, Qe1 Bf1
3, Qxf1 Nxg3+
4, Rxg3 Qxf1+
5, Rg1 Qxg1#
Best from Hungary
1. … Bc4
a)2. Qc4 Td1+ 3.Bd1 3.Td1+
b)2. Qe1 Bf1! 2. Qf1 Ng3+
Wonderful.
1. Bc4 (a) QxB
2. Rd1+ BxR
3. RxB+ Qf1
4. RxQ+ Rg1
5. RxR#
1. … (b) Qe1 (all other moves lose the queen immediately)
2. Bf1 QxB
3. Nxg3+ RxN
4. QxQ+ Rg1
5. QxR#
Mark
Looks like a mate to me starting with Bc4. White’s back rank is weak, and this is the one move that takes maximum advantage of this weakness:
1. …..Bc4
2. Qc4 Rd1
3. Bd1 Rd1
4. Qf1 Rf1
5. Rg1 Ng3#
The only really relevant deviation from this line occurs at move 2 for white:
2. Qe1 Bf1!
Took me a while to find this move. The point, of course, is that if white takes the bishop, the rook is pinned to the queen making Ng3 a crusher.
3. Qf1 Ng3
4. Rg3 Qf1
5. Rg1 Qg1#
The alternatives at move 3 for white all look like mate to me:
3. Re2 Be2
And the bishop is still poison since the queen can’t leave g3 unguarded due to Ng3#, and black is threatening Bf3#:
4. Nd2 Rd2 and the mate is unstoppable. Or
4. Bd1 Rd1 (or Ng3)
And there are only delaying sacrifices.
Back at move 3:
3. Rg1 Bg1
And it is mate in 2 moves max. Or
3. Rd2 Rd2
And the mate can only be delayed for two more moves.
1…Bc4! 2.Qe1 forced Bf1! winning the exchange because 3.Qxf1 Nxg3+! winning the queen and mating the king -+
I’d suggest 1. … Bc4 2. Qe1 (if 2. Qc4: Rd1 and mate soon) Bf1 3. Qf1: Ng3 0-1
1.Bc4 Q–2.Bf1QxB 3.Nxg3+ Black wins
i didn’t solve the first one, which turned out to be ‘easy’ .. at first, i couldn’t solve the second one, which also turns out to be ‘easy’ .. 1. .. Lc4 looks ugly ! thank you for a nice pair, susan and chesstoday !
1… Bc4
2.Qe1 Bf1
Bc4 Qe1 Bf1! wins
1. – Bc4!

1.Nxg3 2.Rxg3 3.Qxg3 4.Qe1 5.Rxd1 6.Qxd1 7.Rxd1 8.Qxg1 -Checkmate

1. … Bc5

2. Qxc5 Rd1+
3. Bxd1 Rxd1+
4. Rg1 Rxg1 mate
if
2. Qe1 Bf1
3. Qxf1 Nxg3+
4. Rxg3 Qxf1+
1…, Bc4; 2.Qe1, Bf1; 3. Qxf1, Nxg3
1… Bc4!
2… Bf1!
and finally mate in f1 sq
