Sadly, the majestic World Trade Center Twin Towers in the New York City Manhattan Island background show that the photo was certainly taken before the 9/11/2001 tragedy 🙁

Judit was to be challenged by the Raging Rooks, national chess champions from Adam Clayton Powell Jr. High School in Harlem. The theme of the event, “Push Pawns, Not Drugs,” was meant to convey the sweepingly positive nature of chess, compared with the drug- and violence-related games that take place on many city streets.
