Thank you for the live commentary. Very enjoyable. Exciting match.
This is a very enjoyable match.
I think that themed tournaments are a possible solution to the “death” of chess.
It’s a step that checkers took a few decades ago: there were so many lines that were completely played out to a draw that tournament players were assigned openings by lot.
Why not do the same thing for chess?
I can tell you who would be world number one in that case—without a doubt it would be Ivanchuk, the most universal player in decades, if not of all time.
Good match. All Whites win. Next time I suggest Petrov theme 😉
I like the petrov theme idea.
That plus warm milk and I’ll never have insomnia again.
So I guess the Sicilian Schev. is now broken?
Someone told me, that Black statistically does a good job by playing the Sicilian. If _this_ is supposed to be the truth, I *will* play the Petrov. I mean, just because I’m Black, I’m not particularly inclined to offer (half) points. Amuse yourself and pay for your beer yourself — you’re not invited.
Susan: Nice photo, but you should have pushed the d4 pawn just to get a reaction. 🙂
Thanks for the commentaries.
