The 13th World’s Youth Stars tournament, dedicated to the memory of Vanya Somov, took place from 19-30th May at the Palace of Culture KINEF in Kirishi, Leningrad region, Russia.
The tournament was a 12-player, single round-robin event valid for IM-norms.
Top seed IM Maksim Chigaev from St. Petersburg won the tournament with 8,0/11 points, half a point ahead of Georgian FM Giorgi Sibashvili who claimed an IM norm.
