Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Susan, I’ve seen this question come up a lot, why isn’t Hou Yifan working with a better coach?
You do so much for chess education, especially for girls, but it seems as though young women at the elite level are being stymied by a lack of elite coaches. Have you considered taking on a more formal role with some of these young women?
Yep, I agreed. Woman Chess Player such as Judit can really stand out against the top male chess player. Something really needs to be done to help improve young talent such as Yifan. She hasn’t improved much for a while.
Susan, you should talk to Yifan and their headcoach Mr Ye in China!
I would have no problem helping her if she asks. Same goes with other top young talented female players like Zhao Xue, Muzychuk, Kosintseva, etc. But I think she already has a coach.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
I don’t think her coach is that good. That’s the problem. She needs someone like your level to improve further!!
So why can’t Yifan or her coach contact Susan for help? What’s the problem. Susan obviously knows how to help her.
