I think IBM needs to get Deep Blue out of mothballs. My guess is Anand will go belly up in 6 games.
What happened with Nakamura ?
I wonder what Anonymous [September 15, 2013 at 5:27:00 PM CDT] meant. This tournament was a minor success for Nakamura. He lost only one game, to a much higher-rated opponent, albeit one having a tough event otherwise. He gained nontrivial Elo points.
As for Magnus–he doesn’t seem to care much what sort of position he gets, as long as there’s some play in it. Though a man whose openings often look a little lax and old-fashioned, he almost never gets tagged in them. His endgame play is probably the very best in the world. And his attention virtually never drops. This could almost be a description of the young Emanuel Lasker!
I daresay Aronian and Kamsky are glad this event is over.
Magnus is now at 2870 live FIDE rating !
