GM Tomas Likavsky Winner in Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein Open, 27th May to 4th June at Gemeindesaal Triesen

The 29th Liechtenstein International Open was held from 27th May to 4th June at Gemeindesaal Triesen in the Principality of Liechtenstein. The tournament was organized by the Liechtensteiner Schachverband and supported by S.D. Erbprinz Alois von und zu Liechtenstein.

The main Open had 84 players and six Grandmasters in the field. The prize fund is CHF 11.000, with CHF 2.000 reserved for the champion. Senior Open had 44 participants. Top prize in this group is CHF 800.

GM Tomas Likavsky from Slovakia collected 7.0 points to take a clear first place and winner’s trophy. Eight players are half a point behind on a shared second place.

In the Senior Open, IM Bhend Edwin SUI 2257, IM Pribyl Josef CZE 2333, IM Eperjesi Laszlo HUN 2177 and FM Hohler Peter SUI 2178 shared the first place with 6.5 points each.
