Manager of Veselin TopalovDear Sirs,
The Organizing Committee of the Match for the World Title in Chess between the World Champion V. Anand and V. Topalov would like to apologize for the inconvenience during the fifth game due to cut in the electricity power supply. It was caused by general failure in the electrical system in central Sofia, which affected also the emergency power generators.
We have taken all the needed precautions to prevent from future incidents till the end of the match.
An official statement by the Ministry of Economy and Energetics and the power supplying company CEZ will be presented to you later on.

This is a first class organization. They’re very professional. They immediately fixed the problems occurred due to Mother nature.
What possible precautions can you take to prevent a power failure at the planet level?
yes, only thing the problem should not have been there, there has to be a back up, come on its WCC not a club game!

That’s not quite the idea of an uninterruptible power supply. 🙂
We have taken all the needed precautions to prevent from future incidents till the end of the match.
How??
I don’t blame the organizers, but just imagine if the match was being held somewhere other than Bulgaria, like India or Russia: Danilov and Topalov would, no doubt, be screaming bloody murder.
The professional of the organizers is very low because – has nobody else than me seen that these people addressed **Sirs** also to Aruna Anand. Very polite, just like we know it from Danailov…
Their power supply is as broken as their English.
If they’ve taken steps to prevent a power-out happening again, they could probablhy have taken them in the first place.
Organisation is clearly poor, as evidenced by their grudging reaction to Anand’s travel problems.
Next thing, they’ll be mending Anand’s hotel plumbing at 3 in the morning and walking behind him with umbrellas.
Bulgaria is in the yellow zone on the ‘Corruption Perception’ index:

That was phase 1 of the Danailov attack – the power outage strategy.
The power outage will definitely give conspiracy theorist a field day :).
