GM DANIEL FRIDMAN TAKES US G/10 TITLE

GM Daniel Fridman captured the US G/10 Championship on Thursday night, finishing with 5½/6, a half-point ahead of his nearest rivals, GMs Pavel Tregubov, Timur Gareev, Jaan Ehlvest, Alex Lenderman, Mikheil Kekelidze and Arthur Kogan.

GM VARUZHAN AKOBIAN SIMUL

GM Varuzhan Akobian took on 29 players in his simul and finished with a score of 26 wins, 2 draws and just one loss. Jonathon Zaczek was the only winner against Akobian while the Vellotti brothers, Carl and Luke both managed draws.

IM ANNA ZATONSKIH SIMUL

WGM Anna Zatonskih also took on 29 players and finished with a score of 24 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses. The two victorious players were Brian Murphy and Kent Quander while the three players to score draws were Andrew Keresey, Alfred Walker and Hunter Boulware.

Zatonskih’s simul lasted over 5 hours as nearly all the players pushed her to the limit and played competitive games.
