PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian tied the final game vs. Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik in the friendly six-round match.
Zurich Chess Challenge match between Levon Aronian (Armenia) and Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) ended in a 3:3 tie on April 28.
Both players showed a brilliant fight; Aronian took the initiative but again overestimated his chances. “I was in reality playing very adventurous moves where I shouldn’t have,” chess.co.uk quotes Armenian GM as saying.
The match was successful, according to Kramnik, who said that 5 out of 6 games were exciting.
Aronian won the first round and his Russian rival gained victory in the third one. Other rounds ended in a draw.
