Well played game by Korchnoi.
Mr. Korchnoi is still playing great chess.
Of course he won Spassky! he is still an active player, contrary to Spasssky, that retired a long time ago.
This is, literally, the “battle of the ages”. May the less senile win. 🙂
But seriously, these 2 should have long been in the World Chess Hall of Fame, if there is one. Maybe it should be called “Hall of Greats”.
Susan, still strong ,maybe top guys in Russia ! hahaha.
Well …its better than watching a FIDE event.
I remember myself as a kid, going through Raymond Keen’s book covering their duel. I was then completely engulfed and obssessed with the world of chess in general, and these two giants of chess are in a way childhood friends or an important part of my childhood.
It is exciting to see this picture. I wonder if the enmity is gone and whether they sit every day after the game and small talk to each other. Like friends and no more foes.
Blessings
