Alekhine Chess Club, Kolkata, India organises the 19th edition of the prestigious International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament, carrying a prize money of Rs.14,00,000/- (approximately 22500 USD) from 18th to 27th March 2014.

First prize of the tournament will be Rs.400,000 and only players with a rating of 2200 and above may be allowed to participate. Last date for entry is 10th March without late fee and 16th March with late fee.

The tournament will be of 10 rounds, played under a time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and remaining game in 30 minutes, with an increment of 30 seconds from move 1.

Prominent players who participated in the last edition of the tournament are Radoslaw Wojtaszek of Poland, Anton Korobov of Ukraine, Sergei Tiviakov of Netherlands, Ni Hua of China, SS Ganguly, Sandipan Chanda, Abhijeet Gupta, SP Sethuraman and B. Adhiban from India.

Entry fees may be paid by cash or by local cheque or by Bank Draft in favour of “Alekhine Chess Club” payable on Kolkata.
