Russia’s Kasparov questioned on suspicion of assaulting police officer
MOSCOW — Russian opposition leader and chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov has been called for questioning after a police officer accused him of biting his hand while he was being detained at a protest in support of Pussy Riot.
Kasparov, the former world chess champion and anti-Vladimir Putin activist, denies the claims.
Kasparov was detained on Friday as he was rallying in support of the feminist punk band outside the Moscow court where members were sentenced to two years in prison.
Kasparov says he’s planning to file a complaint against his detention and a libel case against his accuser.
Kasparov said outside police headquarters after questioning Monday that he submitted videos of his arrest that prove his innocence “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Below is Kasparov’s own video

I think the cop that was bitten by Kasparov should immediately get vaccinated!!!
Kasparov must be on drugs from Pussy Right. He is insulting security service by showing a video. Insulting security service is the same as insulting Vladimir Putin himself. If security service said they were bitten, they were bitten. They do not lie. If you say security service is lying then you accuse them of being dishonest, and accuse Putin of being dishonest, an even greater insult. The only way for Kasparov to save himself now is to admit his guilt. After he is deported to Khodorkovsky land maybe he will be back in Moscow in 10-15 years, but he will need to become like Karpov.
The whole thing is absurd.
Kasparov…love him or hate him has no individual rights in Russia. And that’s fair because that’s the case for everyone there it seems. Obviously the Anon comments above are meant to be jokes. There’s nothing funny about it though ..it simply highlites how bad things are over there. Pussy Riot DID need a spanking of some sort but Russias wisdom obviously was not up to the task. And before we go judging how “Backwards” these other places in the world are..let’s look in our own backyard. I think the Republican news feeds this morning are ample reason to be cncerned about the state of affairs here in North America. Kasparov is Kasparov…You simply shouldn’t be able to throw a person in jail and brutalize him just because he annoys you. It’s simply uncivilised.
Damn where did you get yourself involved Garry? Being a chess player I think he should have analyzed the situation better to be honest going up against Putin is like Kasparov VS All Best chess players in history with the aid of chess engines!
If Russia was so draconian as Kasparov wants others to belive, they would not be questioning him.. he would be behind bars straightaway.. Russia is neither open as America nor as closed as China. But one thing needs to be done… Garry needs a Hi5 – 5 years in jail. Russia and Chess world would benefit.
I glad of these videos that prove Kasparov did not bite the hand of the officer, who has lied (through his teeth!) about the incident.
As for those who criticize Karparov’s judgment in protesting the 2-year sentence that Pussy Riot received, those are probably the same people who criticized Boris Yeltsin for standing atop one of those Russian tanks in Moscow some years ago.
Also, I agree with Mike Magnan that we need to look into our own yard. Citizens of the good old USA lost the right to habeas corpus when the Obama-supported National Defense Authorization Act of 2011 was passed by Congress. Where are the massive protests in the streets against that anti-democratic abomination? Now the USA can legally hold citizens forever without bringing them to trial.
I applaud Garry Kasparov’s courage in making his protest. So what if he’s got a huge ego. Boris Yeltsin had that problem too.

Kasparov’s video captured something interesting: DOUBT.
The policeman that accused Kasparov is shown tending the back area of his left hand – after the scuffle is over (2 frames shown):

He’s on the left side of the split-pic, near the bus, looking down at his left hand. There are several frames of the policeman doing this over a short duration before he is outside the camera view – eventually raises his right hand to rub the left one.
Kasparow knows very good what he is doing – to make problems and to be oppositionist. He is good paid from foreign organisations.
