Garry Kasparov: Suitcase – Airport – New-York
Politics, 20.06.2013 17:40:00 Russian version
Kasparov has said to journalists that he is apprehensive about being persecuted by Russian authorities.
“Now I seriously doubt that I will be able to come back after returning to Moscow. So I will refrain from returning to Russia for a while”, has stated the chess-player.
Soon after it became known that the oppositionist’s sudden departure had been provoked by the summons to the Investigative Committee.
“I am not going to throw myself on the mercy of the Investigative Committee headed by Alexander Bastrykin who deserves the first place on the “Magnitsky List”, wrote Kasparov in the claim posted on his website.
As recently as April 2013, Kasparov asserted that the rumors of his emigration had been exaggerated. However, in 2009 he bought an apartment in New York where his family has been living for four years already.
Garry Kasparov became a politician in 2005 when he founded the United Civil Front. Afterwards, he was a member of the Other Russia coalition and the National Assembly.

Kasparov will go where money is.
He chose a smart way to get residency in US – stating persecution.. Now Naka has to work more to pay for his free meals and bills. Obnoxious garry.. mind u russia may not take you back…. this is no linares… no takebacks..
The match that everyone is waiting for is Kasparov vs Carlsen. Had Gazza not taken the idiotic path of trying to become a politician in Russia he would be preparing to play Magnus now instead of Anand.
The only one who has come close to Gazza’s high alltime rating is Carlsen, so they would be equally matched. Carlsen has not really exceeded it yet due to rating inflation.
Hmm… I am not too fond of the comments that are left here. I mean… what happens in Russia is so disgraceful; one of the greatest Russians ever is simply not safe there. And why? Because he disagrees with the current regime.
With that in mind, I don’t think it is such a good idea to say something stupid about ‘takebacks’ or that ‘Kasparov will go where money is’. It is just insulting.
Serves Kasparov right. He is obnoxious, greedy,an opportunist and egoist. He is no match to either Anand or carlsen on the chess board. And these are facts! He should be thankful Putin hasn’t put him in jail.
I would not agree that Kasparov is no match for Anand – gazza owned him.. but i or 95% of the elite chess players would agree gazza is obnoxious.. probably bringing up problem. Garry has a master-slave mentality.. we elites have seen how Yuri Dakhoian has to walk behind him w/o uttering a word to anyone.. ha ha ha.. Gary u for liberty.. I would rather have dracula incharge of blood banks..
Kasparov should go to Siberia in labor camp and spend his life to give something back to society. That will be great service to Russia and mankind.
Kasparov one of the greatest Russian? you must be kidding. He is a disgrace to human race.
