Uzbek finishes 6th at FIDE Grand Prix

TASHKENT – Uzbek chess player Rustam Kasimdzhanov finished sixth among the 12 grandmasters competing in the FIDE (International Chess Federation) Grand Prix 2012, which ran November 21-December 5 in Tashkent.
Kasimdzhanov, the sole Central Asian playing in the tournament, finished with 33.25 points. Ten countries were represented at the elite competition.
Kasimdzhanov, 34, won the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2004.
