Karjakin won the final two games to win the match by the score of 7.5 – 2.5 (7 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses).
9 games decided and only one draw.
Without lookig at the result I hail both players for this result even if it was just rapid.
I am sure Short would have preferred it if there were quite a few less decisive games (meaning losses for him!)
This rout is the greatest since Bobby Fischer swept the candidates tournament on the way to the World Championship victory against Boris Spassky. I can’t think of any other match that compares. Krajakin’s result surely must be in the 3200 rating range.
Seems like yesterday when Short criticized Adams for being badly beaten up by Hydra…nemesis took over…

Why do people hate Short? He is like Bent Larsen who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and was in the way of Bobby Fischers march to the championship. All this score shows is that Karjakin is a strong as Fischer, not that Nigel Short is an —hole.

2) The result does not show that
Karjakin is a strong as Fischer; rather, it shows that Short is shit. In fact, he should change his name to Nigel Shit.

To get some perspective, this match could be compared to the Carlsen – van Wely match in May 2006.
Karjakin at an age of 18 1/2 year and with a FIDE rating of 2727 wins his match 7 1/2 to 2 1/2 against Short who is 43 years old and has a 2655 rating.
Carlsen was 15 1/2 years, rated 2646 when he won 5,5 to 2,5 against van Wely who at that time was 34 and, coincidently, had the same rating as Short (2655)

Maybe some posts are offensive,…but Nigel Short IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BREAK-UP OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP !!!

And Kasparov had really not too much to do with the break-up, because he had to defend his title on FIDE grounds in 1993 if this Nigel Sh… hadn’t come up with the stupid and criminal idea to do it outside FIDE and put the whole money in their own pockets…
It’s perfectly understandable that Short gets a beating now…
To the previous post: get your facts right! No problem, you were probably not yet born in 1993 or a well-thinking adult, which is also a rather serious crime though.
I don’t understand all the hostility creeping in. There’s a lot of hollow anonymous shouting and I agree with a previous post there are other sites for that, ones I avoid.
